Elise is graduated! And... we're gaining on the apricots!

I had a family come over and pick yesterday, and we picked about 6 or 7 gallons today, I have 3 people coming over tomorrow to pick, and the tree is beginning to show signs it's almost done.  I broke down and made 8 more pints of jam yesterday.  I had enough for our "neighbor gifts" but didn't have enough for family, too.  So I'm up to 90 pints that I've made so far this year. Whew!

By the way, we've picked about 5 tomatoes and our first 2 cucumbers now, too.  Yum!

Today was spent at the BYU graduation for Elise!  Yippee!!!  Because it was the summer graduation, in which many fewer are in, it was less than an hour.  Then we went over to Jacob and Elise's and had a BBQ.  Really, really fun.  John went to work in the morning, but came home for the BBQ and stayed.  This is the longest time he's had to relax since our vacation.  Very, very nice.
She's DONE!

Jacob is just a bit proud. :-)

The apricots are winning.

I've had people over to pick the apricots, but it's not enough!  I've decided to bottle 2 or 3 more batches.  My friend brought me a taste of some apricot-cranberry jam, and John really liked it.  So I'm going to make a batch of that.  And I have enough cherry juice to do one or two more batches.  Sigh.  And I thought I was all done.  Help!  Come get my apricots!

BTW, I have dried about 5 batches- almost a gallon dried.  Whew!

Crooknect squash

We cooked up our first two crookneck squashes last night, with some butter, onions and peppers.  Yummy!!
